Östra Trollåsen
Outside Gothenburg, Skanska has designed and planned a residential area called Östra Trollåsen. Located amidst hiking trails and beaches, yet with easy access to the motorway leading into the city, the area is specially designed for those who want the best of both worlds.
The best of modern architecture
Skanska has taken steps to maintain the surrounding environment as much as possible, and the houses are designed to blend in with this landscape. The homes are light and airy with big windows facing the natural landscape and Askim Bay. And the architecture features clean, straight lines, and facades washed in light colors.
Potential buyers can also choose between different types of homes at Östra Trollåsen. One model offers a “panorama room” on the second floor, while the other model is nine square meters larger and has a large roof terrace. Both models feature multiple bedrooms, a modern kitchen, and tiled bathrooms.
 Creating a community
With its homes carefully situated on the flat, rocky terrain above the bay, Östra Trollåsen offers an ideal setting. In addition to the neighboring nature reserve, walking trails, swimming areas and golf courses, it is also conveniently located near a city center with a library, pharmacy, shopping, and schools. But none of this is coincidence. These details were mapped out early in the planning stages, since Skanska’s plan for the area was to create a neighborhood of quality homes in a unique surrounding.
Because of its location near a nature reserve, however, Skanska had to work closely with local building authorities to zone the area in a way that protected the surrounding habitat. At the same time, it was important to build homes that would meet the customer demands and expectations.
Not surprisingly, potential homeowners are showing a great deal of interest in the area. The first 25 houses are complete, and the customers who have moved in are very satisfied. What’s more, the project has been nominated by the Swedish Construction Industry (Svensk Byggindustris) for “The Construction of the Year” in 2004. |
