We place a high priority on sustainable business practices at Skanska Project Development Residential Nordic. This means respecting the communities in which we work, and acting ethically in our relationships with local authorities, contractors and customers. It also means employing an environmental management system to ensure that the homes we build are healthy and environmentally sound.

Environmental vision Our environmnetal vision is to be a world leader in project development by applying our in-depth expertise in a responsible way that minimizes environmental impact. Read our Environmental and health & safety policy.
Environmental Management System At PDR Nordic, we employ an environmental management system to guide us in our everyday work. This system helps us take every opportunity to safeguard the environment when building residential communities. It incorporates everything from initial soil testing to methods for minimizing environmental impact both during construction and during the entire time that people will live there.
Environmental Focus Areas Our ambition is to minimize the negative impact on the environment throughout the lifespan of the properties we develop. Both when it comes to indoor and outdoor environments.
Healthy indoor environments We want to ensure that our customers enjoy their new homes, and that they feel healthy living there. That’s why we are actively concerned with issues surrounding the indoor environment. This includes everything from climate control to using materials that do not cause allergies.
Homes with low energy usage Our goal is to build homes that use as little energy as possible. In so doing, we not only reduce the release of greenhouse gases, but also reduce expenses for the homeowner. We see this as one of the biggest benefits of living in a newly built home. We do this by, for example, using improved insulation and being careful about our choice of windows and appliances.
Smart choice of construction materials and chemicals Some materials and chemicals are less suitable for housing construction than others. They can have a negative impact on both the indoor and outdoor environment. At Skanska, we believe that homes should be free from materials that might endanger people’s health. So we’ve taken steps to ensure that some chemical compounds may not be used by Skanska anywhere in the world, even if they are allowed by local authorities.
To economize with resources By using resources in a smart way, we save money and reduce the overall impact on the environment. By planning our purchases can we minimize the quantity of waste material. All waste that’s generated on our work sites is sorted so that we can re-use or recycle as much of it as possible.
